Target branch for contributor PRs¶
When contributing to the backend, target your PR against the main branch.
Creating your code changes using the devcontainer¶

Spin up the devcontainer.

Add your code changes.

To start a preview of the application, issue the following command:

You have now started a local instance of Home Assistant with HACS on
http://localhost:8123 -
To use and see HACS inside the local Home Assistant instance, you need to configure it in the Home Assistant UI

When you are happy with the result, push the changes to your fork and create a PR to have it merged to the HACS base.
